VE Day Celebrations

Thank you to everyone who has shared their VE Day photos and work with us via email, Facebook and Twitter.

The children on school celebrated in style with non stop VE day activities and staff dressed in red, white and blue! The day consisted of decorating biscuits, designing spitfire place mats, listening to Winston Churchill's famous speech, observing the 2 minutes silence, 1940's music, 1940's games, making bunting, Shaun educating all on VE Day, and the finale being a VE Day party outside in the sunshine, with a back drop of all the VE Day creative activities.

Jacob Ridge (3M) wanted to learn more about the Second World War prior to VE day anniversary celebrations. We learnt about the Battle of the Bulge and created a scene representing Lanzerath Ridge, where 18 American soldiers held out against 500 German soldiers long enough to delay the whole German advance and help turn the tide of the whole battle! πŸ˜

Today Noah learnt about VE Day.

Cal in Giraffe class has decorated the window ready for tomorrow. 😁😁

This week Lois (5M) and Archie (2A) have been learning about VE Day which we have all enjoyed. The children have made fact folders for when they return to school to show they teachers βœοΈπŸ˜πŸ‡¬πŸ‡§
