Year Five - Mandir Visit

Last week, Year 5 visited the Mandir in Wolverhampton in order to understand and celebrate differences in society. The children had a very warm welcome from the volunteers at the Mandir, and were encouraged to ask as many questions as they liked. It was a really interesting morning, where we learned all about the Hindu faith, and witnessed first hand the importance of taking off shoes and ringing the bell. The children then had a short opportunity to sketch some of the Murtis (statues), and have a tour of the worship hall. On leaving, they presented the children with a token of thanks (a small chocolate or piece of fruit).
