Young Voices

On Monday 27th January 2020, Queen Victoria Primary School choir took part in ‘Young Voices 2020’ at Resorts World Arena, Birmingham.  Fourteen pupils attended the event along with three members of school staff: Mrs Wakelam, Miss Dickens and Mrs Willetts. This was a fantastic event which allowed pupils from all over the West Midlands to take part in a singathon and perform to their families and one another.

They sang a variety of songs including: ‘You’ll be in my heart’, ‘Shut up and dance with me’, ‘Oaklahoma’ and our favourite: The Queen Medley.  There were guest performances by Ruti Olajugbagbe, The Shires and Tony Hadley.  The children from ‘Queen Vic’ performed superbly and thoroughly enjoyed singing the songs from a range of musical genres as well as grooving to the beat and demonstrating some impressive dance moves!  Their behaviour was impeccable and they were a real credit to the school.  We are hoping to go again next year, when hopefully the choir will be even bigger! I am sure the children and staff will remember it for many years to come!
