On Thursday 28th June, Year Five took part in the Dormston Cup, an Inter-School competition for Year Five pupils whose primary schools are often feeder schools for Dormston.
There were four primary schools taking part (Queen Victoria, Cotwall End, Roberts and Foxyards) and competing in football (boys) and netball (girls).
Pupils from Dormston were helping to run the event and also to help provide water and directions to the toilets when needed.
It was a very hot afternoon, each team played each other twice. In the netball, our girls had had only very limited practise, so didn’t win, but had improved considerably between the first and last games. The boys had been practising in an after school club with Mr Braiden and were the eventual winners by just a single point!
A fantastic result and a really enjoyable event, many thanks to Dormston for hosting the event. Next year, we’re going to try to get a netball team trained up!
